Welcome to the latest issue of our new FIAUK Newsletter.
This is the first issue following the 2023 FIAUK Print Awards – and what a night it was! Below, we share a roundup of our winners, but first, we want to thank each and every one of you that attended.
We often talk about how UK flexo is some of the most creative and impressive found anywhere, but it’s not until we take time to reflect and gather at events like the FIAUK Print Awards, that it can be so clearly seen, recognised and celebrated.
Massive congratulations to our deserving winners and our thanks to everyone that participated. 🏆
Those that attended had a fantastic evening of celebration and networking. For everyone that could not attend, we hope to see you next year!
Also in this month’s newsletter, we also share the latest newsletter from HR and Health & Safety partner Quest, and a reminder of the latest ways you can connect with FIAUK.

Attendees joined to network with suppliers, customers and peers at a drinks reception and awards dinner. Wynne Evans, renowned singer, comedian, actor and ‘Go Compare’ advert star, lent his talent to proceedings as the evening’s host and was supported by one of the most well-known and trusted voices on British television, Roger Tilling.

Outstanding Contribution – Steve Rigby, XSYS
At the 2023 FIAUK Print Awards, the award for Outstanding Contribution was awarded to Steve Rigby.
Steve studied printing at Central Liverpool College. One of his first major roles was in Malaysia, where he helped set up the first medical packaging company in the country. Then followed roles at UCB Packaging Ltd in St. Helens and Mediflex Ltd in Lancaster before joining BASF in 2001. BASF became Flint, and finally XSYS as we know it today.
As you can see by taking the huge step of moving to Malaysia to help setup a business, Steve is definitely one for a challenge. If you think back in 1983, the world was a much larger place, without internet and very little knowledge of what living somewhere far away from home would look like.
