Our History
Today, FIAUK is the leading trade association representing the needs of the entire flexographic printing supply chain in the UK.
In its original guise “EFTA – the European Flexographic Technical Association” was established to provide technical support to UK printers who were adopting this new revolutionary print technology. A group of industry volunteers came together to pool knowledge, share best practice and try to help the broader community quickly adapt their businesses to this revolutionary print solution.
In 2010, it was recognised that the industry was seeking more than technical support. As technology and knowledge accelerated so did the demands on the trade association. To boost its relevance to the contemporary flexo industry, EFTA became an ‘industry’ association to represent the broader needs of the entire supply chain.
The basis of these founding philosophies still exists within FIAUK today. It is a trade association led by a group of volunteers that look to support the entire flexo supply chain – from concept to completion – and deliver more than simple technical support. From market leading training and education to networking, recognition and promotion of this fantastic technology, FIAUK is leading from the front and delivering new and exciting programmes for the entire flexo printed packaging industry.
The Board of FIA UK meets on a regular basis to address key industry challenges, needs and trends, to develop projects and initiatives on behalf of its members and partners.
